THE cream of female entrepreneurial talent make up the shortlist for an awards ceremony celebrating the North East’s top women business leaders.
The 15th Annual North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards brings together high-flying women from a variety of sectors across the North East in November.
Judges this year have shortlisted women who have excelled at providing focused, clear leadership abilities in running or playing a key role in business.
Yet again, the standard of entries has eclipsed previous years, according to Women into the Network (WIN), and whittling them down to the finalists proved a huge challenging.
Nickie Gott, WIN Chair and founder of events management company She’s Gott It! said: “This is our favourite time of year when we get to call the finalists to break the news to them that they’re up for one of these prestigious awards. The standard this year is better than any previous year and the award ceremony should be a fantastic event to celebrate the achievements of these women.”
Last year’s winner of the Susan Dobson Award, Jo Hand, owner of Jo Hand Recruitment, said: “Winning has been hugely significant and benefitted the company enormously. New contracts have been won as a result of the raised profile of the business. The huge amount of PR throughout the year and the radio and TV exposure was unprecedented and has raised not only the company profile but my own, again benefitting the business. PR exposure alone would be worth thousands of pounds.
“My message to all business women out there is this support these important awards. They can mean a great deal to your business, but also showcase the amazing women we have operating at the cutting edge of North East business.”
The Women Into the Network 2014 Awards dinner and presentation is taking place at the Newcastle Gateshead Hilton Hotel on Saturday 15th November 2014.
Tickets for the dinner can be bought individually or tables of 12 guests can also be purchased.
